Another Classic at Flaherty's Beach

Perfect weather made for another perfect day for beach golf at the annual Flaherty's Beach Golf Classic on Sunday, January 11, around 150 turning up to enjoy the day with 96 golfers and wannabes lining up to tee-off.
Now in its 13th year, the classic continues to be a great fundraiser for the Warooka Progress Association, the money put towards local projects.
Although the "Scooby $1000 Hole-in-One" competition was unclaimed this year, a handful of players conquered the challenges of sand traps and water hazards to take home prizes.
“We had 19 sponsors this year which was fantastic. With the many helpers, it enabled Warooka Progress to once again stage a great family fun day and raise money for community projects,” Association Secretary Sharon Rowe said.

The 2009 Yorke Brewing team consisted of Justin Murdock, Neale Forbes, Darrin Thom and Tracey Allen. Once again showing fine form under the grueling conditions, Darrin Thom took out the Men’s Best Net Runner Up.
