During April 2009 Justin Murdock (Company Director of Yorke Brewing) applied for funding towards his individual training, this opportunity was being offered by the Food & Beverage Development Fund of South Australia.

Yorke Brewing are now very pleased to announce that as of the 21st of May 2009 Justin was successful in obtaining funding towards his personal up skilling via tertiary education.

The Food and Beverage Development fund have committed financial support to allow him to attend the Malting and Brewing Science Short Course commencing mid July at Ballarat University, Victoria.

Here at Yorke Brewing we strongly believe that highly skilled employees are valuable employees and we encourage all extra training, especially tertiary. As with any industry knowledge, the more trained the individual, the more the entire business is strengthened overall.

Justin became aware of the Food & Beverage development fund via email contact from both the Yorke Peninsula Regional Development board and the office of our local Member of Parliament Mr Steven Griffiths.

Being involved with starting a business in a regional community can be tough compared to that of our city neighbours as our access to resources can, at times, be somewhat limited. Thus Justin would like to thank all parties involved at the Food & Beverage Development Fund for allowing training growth in both the SA beverage industry and the Yorke Peninsula as a whole.

If you are currently employed at a food or beverage business in South Australia and may be interested, please contact Carol Graham, Executive Officer to discuss your options regarding training possibilities.
